Complete Set of Financial Statements
Includes: statement of financial position, comprehensive income, changes in equity, cash flows, and notes.
Departure from Standards
Disclosure requirements for departure include: identification of the standard departed from, nature of departure, treatment required, reason, and financial effect.
Interpretations
Provide authoritative guidance on newly identified issues or conflicting interpretations. Entities shall apply Interpretations if financial statements are described as prepared in accordance with HKFRS.
Members' Obligations & Departure Justification (Paragraphs 19-22)
General Obligation
Council expects HKICPA members who assume responsibilities for financial statements to observe HKFRS Accounting Standards.
Directors and Other Officers
Members whose names are associated with financial statements as directors or officers must ensure non-member colleagues understand the purpose of HKFRS.
Auditors and Reporting Accountants
Must be able to justify departures if their concurrence is stated or implied. Not required to refer to departures in their report if adequate disclosure is made in the notes.

Companies Ordinance Requirements
Section 380(4)(b) of Cap. 622 requires financial statements to comply with accounting standards issued by HKICPA.
First-time Adoption
Must comply with HKFRS 1 or Section 35 of HKFRS for Private Entities (if opting for that standard).

May include additional compliance statements (e.g., IFRS) provided both frameworks' requirements are satisfied.
